Only Florida driver license numbers can be searched or reinstated on the Clerk of Courts website. For licenses issued by states other than Florida, you will need to contact the state that issued the license.
To reinstate a suspended license using this site, you must have at least one paid Broward County citation, and you must have paid or resolved all outstanding citations and obligations. This site cannot reinstate an ID card or an expired license. Other restrictions apply.
Yes, you can pay for a citation in Broward County if your case does not involve a Florida Driver License number and no license suspension has been issued. You can also pay if the citation does not require proof of documentation (such as registration or insurance) or a mandatory court appearance. However, citations issued for failure to carry or display a valid Driver License, Vehicle Registration, or Proof of Insurance are not payable online. These violations require you to present the necessary proof to the Clerk's office to determine the correct court fee. For more details, please refer to Traffic and Misdemeanor – Types of Violations.
If your case involves a D6 suspension fee, you may pay it. However, if you do not hold a Florida Driver License, you will not be able to pay the reinstatement fee through the Clerk's website. Please note, only Florida Driver License numbers can be searched through the Florida Driver License Check. To check the status of a license issued by another state, you must contact the licensing authority in that state. Additional requirements may apply for reinstatement.
If your case does not reflect a Florida Driver License number and a license suspension has been issued, you can still pay the citation as long as it does not require a court appearance, along with any late fees and D6 fees. If you hold an out-of-state driver license, additional requirements may be needed by the issuing state's Department of Motor Vehicles for further compliance. If you're unable to pay for the citation through the Clerk's website, you can still make the payment in person at any Broward County Service Location or by mail.
No, the Clerk of Courts website cannot issue a driver license. If you are eligible to reinstate your driver license, the Clerk of Courts website can assist you in reinstating it through the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV). However, the Clerk of Courts office cannot issue a new driver license or ID card. These can only be obtained through the FLHSMV. If you have a physical driver license and have resolved all outstanding suspensions, you can reinstate your license through the Clerk of Courts website. If you do not have the physical license, you can still reinstate it via the Clerk of Courts website, but you will need to obtain a replacement license from the FLHSMV. For more information, please visit the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles.
If the reinstatement process could not be completed at the time of payment, the Clerk of Courts will continue to submit the reinstatement information to the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). You should periodically check your driver license status on the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles website to ensure the reinstatement process has been successfully completed.
You may visit the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles website for information regarding the cost to reinstate your driver license.
In addition to the cost to reinstate your driver license, there will be an extra $5.00 convenience fee when using the Broward County Clerk of Courts website to make payment to reinstate your driver license.
